What was NewGrounds like in 2000s or 1999?

Posted by TheEmeraldBlockTEB - February 22nd, 2023

Seems a bit odd to ask about it due to the fact I'm asking about it, since there's some history page about it.

I'm just curious what was like in NeoGeo days, that is... 2000s or 1999 ( Or earlier. )?

I kinda miss the ol' flash stuff but even in that time, according to some folks.

It didn't have variables like that funi oh-no shooter clicker game in 1999.

This time, I'm asking about the experiences regarding ol' times in NeoGeo.

Notes; Callin' it NeoGeo cause it's easier and shorter to write NewGrounds for short. + Extra things to write.

Need more clarification? General Experiences in NewGrounds during 2000s or earlier.

Well here's a link to the history of the site. If you want to see what a lot of it looked like, let me know.

Well, thanks.
Despite not being exactly what I wanted but I could go for another read about NeoGeo's history, since it's interesting to read. I think I've read it few times and once fully reading for my interest about it's context.

Oh and how NewGrounds looked like, I've seen on WayBack Machine about it though haven't explored that much due to it's more persistent frozed state as an archive rather an interactive dynamic page with flash back then.

I hope I wasn't too aggressive by any means.

@TheEmeraldBlockTEB Ah. Well I can't help you much there. Here's a link to some old Newgrounds stuff collected over the years.

You could also message orbitz. His old account was tampered with, but he's been on the site for a long, long time.

Dang, I should've known NewGrounds used flash even outside of games and animations.
But Thanks a lot!

Though I'm kinda afraid to send messages to any fellow NeoGeo stranger ( No offense ).
Surprised and interested in those .swf stuff when NeoGeo was just starting out.
Didn't expect that angry.swf though.. Regardless.

You tried your best, it's alright!

I'll try one day to message Orbitz though. Best of luck!

Well you can always private message Dangerous-D and DingleBerryClock, since those people remembered the old Newgrounds. There's also another user, named Aksumka, but there's a low chance that he might respond to your pms, but he held an archive website containing the data from of Newgrounds over the years, from 1999 till 2016 (when he couldn't hold onto the website anymore).
For me, I came to Newgrounds since Fall 2007, fill free to ask me questions and I might try to answer them if I could.
